CNA exam by state
Which vendor runs your exam, and where the official handbook is. The table only points at the source — it does not replace it.
The states
CNA certification is managed state by state, by different vendors. Your state’s board of nursing sets the requirements and names the vendor. This table is a lookup: it shows the vendor and the official handbook where they are verified, and the honest absence where they are not.
Why some rows are unverified
Vendors change, handbooks are revised, and a wrong answer here would send a candidate to the wrong place. So until a state’s vendor and handbook are verified against the board of nursing, the row says so plainly and links to the national directory of boards at ncsbn.org. This site never guesses.
Nothing on this site is to be performed on a real person on the basis of this site. This is exam preparation, not clinical training. Emergency situations follow the facility's protocol and the direction of the nurse in charge.
Common questions
- Which vendor runs my state's CNA exam?
- That depends on your state, and this table points you to the source. Each state has a board of nursing and a testing vendor, and the vendor can change. Where a row is not yet verified, this page says so and links to the state's board instead of guessing.
- Where is my official candidate handbook?
- From your testing vendor. This page tells you which vendor runs your exam where it is verified, and links to your state's board of nursing so you can find your own official handbook. Your state's requirements are the source you should rely on.
- Is this site official?
- No. This is an original practice site, not affiliated with any state board of nursing or any testing vendor. The table only points at the official sources; it does not replace them.
